Tottenham Hotspur are actively pursuing attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window, with their sights set on two Premier League forwards. Following the confirmed signing of midfielder Conor Gallagher, the North London club is now linked with moves for Manchester City's £59 million forward Omar Marmoush and Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Spurs' Search for Firepower Heats Up
The need for new attackers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has become urgent. The club is currently dealing with long-term injuries to key players Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus. This issue was compounded earlier this month by the sale of winger Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.
Spurs have already been busy this window, securing Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid for £34.7 million and appointing John Heitinga as assistant coach. They have also completed a deal for Brazilian left-back Souza from Santos. However, the focus has now sharply turned to bolstering the frontline.
Interest in £59m Man City Forward Omar Marmoush
According to reports from Turkish journalist Cagatay Celik, Tottenham are one of several clubs showing interest in Manchester City's Egyptian international, Omar Marmoush. Aston Villa and Galatasaray are also named as potential suitors.
The 25-year-old, who moved to the Etihad from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million just a year ago, has struggled for game time under Pep Guardiola. He has managed only 389 minutes of action this season, registering one goal and one assist.
It is claimed that Marmoush's priority is to remain in England, and he would only consider a loan move away from City. Galatasaray have reportedly been presented with a loan opportunity, but Tottenham and Villa's interest could provide a more appealing domestic option.
Premier League Race for Wolves Striker Larsen
Alongside their interest in Marmoush, Spurs are also tracking Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jorgen Strand Larsen. TeamTalk reports that Tottenham are amongst six Premier League sides expressing strong interest in the Norwegian.
The other clubs named are Newcastle United, Everton, Nottingham Forest, West Ham United, and Leeds United. The Athletic adds that Leeds have already made an enquiry for the 25-year-old striker, though no formal offer has been submitted.
Larsen has found goals hard to come by at Molineux this season, scoring just six times in 23 appearances, with only one of those strikes coming in the Premier League. The significant competition for his signature means a deal is far from certain.
Spurs' Transfer Window Activity Continues
With the January window in full swing, Tottenham's recruitment team, led by manager Thomas Frank, is working diligently to address the squad's attacking shortfall. The potential arrivals of Marmoush on loan or Larsen in a permanent deal would provide much-needed depth and options upfront.
The club has already overseen several departures this month, including Manor Solomon to Fiorentina and Jamie Donley to Oxford United, streamlining the squad for new arrivals. As the deadline approaches, all eyes will be on whether Spurs can secure one or both of their reported striking targets to bolster their push for European qualification.
