PC gamers with a taste for the deeply unsettling are on high alert this week, as the long-awaited Pathologic 3 finally makes its debut. This reimagining of the cult horror classic from developer Ice-Pick Lodge tasks players with surviving a plague-ridden town over twelve in-game days of psychological tension.
Pathologic 3 Release Schedule And Platform Details
The wait is almost over for fans. Pathologic 3 will unlock on Steam on Friday, January 9, 2026, at precisely 4pm GMT. For players in other regions, this translates to an 8am PDT or 11am EDT start in the United States, and a 5pm CET launch across Europe.
It's important to note that this initial launch is for the PC platform only. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles are confirmed to be in development, but Ice-Pick Lodge has not yet provided a specific release window for these ports.
Download Size, Pre-Load Status And Pricing Information
Prospective healers of The Town will need to ensure they have sufficient hard drive space available. The developers have confirmed that the Pathologic 3 file size will be approximately 43GB.
Unfortunately, the game was not available for pre-order on Steam prior to launch, which also means a pre-load option was not offered. Players must begin the full download once the game goes live at the stated release time.
On pricing, Ice-Pick Lodge has stated that Pathologic 3 will carry a similar cost to its predecessor, Pathologic 2. In the UK, this suggests a base price point around £29.50. The good news is a 20% launch discount will be applied, potentially bringing the cost down to under £25 for early purchasers.
Furthermore, a bundle containing both Pathologic 2 and Pathologic 3 will be available, granting an additional 15% discount on the combined package.
Steam Deck Compatibility At Launch
For gamers hoping to take the harrowing experience of Pathologic 3 on the go via Valve's Steam Deck, the developer has issued a cautious statement. Ice-Pick Lodge confirmed they cannot yet guarantee full Steam Deck support and optimisation for the launch version.
"We can’t yet confirm full support and optimisation at launch, but as soon as we’re confident the game runs properly, you’ll see the appropriate label on the store page," the studio said. It is worth noting that Pathologic 2 has already earned a 'Verified' status for the handheld device, offering hope that its successor will follow suit after some post-launch tweaks.
With its oppressive atmosphere and unique narrative-driven survival mechanics, Pathologic 3 is poised to be one of the most distinctive and challenging releases of the early new year. PC players can prepare to step into its grim world this Friday afternoon.
