Sky TV Customers to Receive Free Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu in Major Bundle Overhaul
Sky has announced a significant overhaul of its Ultimate TV package, offering customers complimentary access to Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu streaming services at no extra cost. This move is set to provide substantial value, with the included services worth more than £20 per month.
Package Details and Pricing
Customers subscribing to the Sky Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle at £42 per month will benefit from this enhanced offering. The package includes Sky TV, complimentary Netflix, and discovery+, alongside the newly added streaming platforms. However, from April 1, the price for new subscribers will increase by £2 monthly. Those who sign up before this date will secure the deal without the additional fee.
The bundle features comprehensive Sky Sports programming across nine specialist channels, covering events such as the Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, darts, and golf. Subscribers also gain access to over 135 standard channels, including Sky Atlantic and the relaunched Sky One.
Streaming Services Launch Timeline
HBO Max is scheduled to debut in the UK on March 26, while precise launch dates for Disney+ and Hayu are yet to be confirmed. The complimentary streaming package is also available with the standard £22 Ultimate TV bundle, which does not include Sky Sports channels.
Sky customers will enjoy a wealth of content, including Disney+ sports documentaries like Welcome to Wrexham, Flintoff, and Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story. Additionally, numerous Netflix series such as Beckham, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Full Swing, and Carlos Alcaraz: My Way are accessible.
Important Considerations and Competitor Response
Customers should note that while HBO Max will become the new home of TNT Sports, a separate TNT Sports plan is required for complete access. Sky has also indicated that prices may change during the 24-month minimum contract term.
This announcement comes as Virgin Media competes with Sky by reducing its flagship Sport bundle from £56.99 to £52.99. Although pricier, Virgin Media's offering includes over 200 channels, nine Sky Sports channels, Netflix, and 362Mbps broadband.
