Casemiro Close to Inter Miami Deal Before Final Man Utd Game

Casemiro is reportedly close to agreeing a deal with David Beckham's Inter Miami following the expiration of his contract at Manchester United. The veteran Brazil midfielder announced in January that he would leave United this summer, and his final home match at Old Trafford saw an emotional farewell.

Move to MLS on the Horizon

The 34-year-old, who joined United from Real Madrid for £70 million plus add-ons four years ago, is keen on a move to the United States. According to The Athletic, Inter Miami is 'closing in' on an agreement to sign him on a free transfer. However, the deal faces a complication: LA Galaxy hold the discovery rights to negotiate with Casemiro and have already made multiple contract offers.

Discovery Rights Complication

The MLS rule granting discovery rights prevents clubs from competing for the same high-profile players. In previous cases, clubs have paid compensation for these rights. Both LA Galaxy and Inter Miami currently lack a designated player spot to accommodate Casemiro, meaning any deal would need to be worth under $2 million (£1.48 million) unless one of Inter Miami's three designated players, including Lionel Messi, leaves.
