KFC has announced the return of its fan-favorite fried pickles to restaurants across the United States for a limited time this summer. According to a press release issued on Monday, the side dish is now available in an eight-piece order, served with customers' choice of sauce, including the new Jalapeño Ranch and Honey Chili Crisp dip.
Marketing Executive Comments
"The pickle craze is here to stay," said Melissa Cash, Chief Marketing Officer at KFC U.S., in a statement. "The response to our fried pickles last summer proved that demand is still strong. We're building on that momentum by bringing them back to our menu." She added: "This time, fans can pair their fried pickles with our bold new sauces and a refreshing lemonade," referring to the new KFC Signature Prickly Pear Lemonade. "It's a craveable lineup of savory, spicy and cool flavors, all built around that signature crunch they can't get enough of."
New Digital-Exclusive Combos
This summer, KFC is also offering two new digital-exclusive snack boxes built around fan-favorite items. One contains nuggets and fried pickles, while the other features fries and fried pickles. Customers can only order these combos through KFC's website or mobile app.
Limited Availability
KFC has not specified exactly how long the fried pickles will remain on the menu, stating only that they are back for the summer. The return comes a month after KFC launched its Pickle Mania menu in the U.K., which was available until April 19 and featured items such as the Pickle Burger, Pickle Loaded Fries, Pickle Pepsi Max, and Frickle – deep-fried pickle slices with a black pepper finish.
Bucket of the Day Deals
Earlier this month, KFC expanded its signature $10 Tuesday deal into a weekday Bucket of the Day promotion in the U.S. The upgrade introduced four different bucket meals, offered on different days of the week, for only $10. On Mondays and Fridays, the deal applies to a 24-piece nugget bucket with four dipping sauces. The traditional Tuesday offer of an eight-piece drum and thigh bucket remains unchanged. On Wednesdays, the deal features 10 wings with two sauces, and on Thursdays, it includes eight tenders and two sauces. Customers can upgrade these buckets into full meals for an additional cost: adding two individual sides and biscuits costs $5, while two large sides and four biscuits can be added for $10.
