Jets Star Garrett Wilson Refuses to Pay $224K for Knicks Finals Tickets
Garrett Wilson Won't Pay for $224K Knicks Finals Tickets

Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson is thrilled to see the New York Knicks return to the NBA Finals for the first time in nearly three decades, but he won't be shelling out for tickets to Madison Square Garden. The Knicks, led by coach Mike Brown, are chasing their first championship since 1973, facing Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in a rematch of the 1999 Finals.

Fans are facing exorbitant prices for seats at MSG. On one resale site, the cheapest ticket for Game 3 in New York is over $4,700, while seats for Game 6 start at $5,100. The most expensive Game 6 ticket listed is a staggering $224,000. Even for Wilson, who signed a four-year, $130 million contract with the Jets last year (averaging $32.5 million annually), those prices are too steep.

"I'm glad I'm up here for it - I'm rooting the Knicks on like hell," Wilson said. But when asked if he would attend any games, he replied: "Them jawns are expensive. So, not yet. I'm gonna be watching."

Wilson believes the Knicks' success is inspiring the Jets to end their 15-year playoff drought, the longest active skid in North American sports. "The city deserves it," he said. "Then, when you see the way they receive it, it's just like we wish it could happen every year. Seeing the people, the way they get behind their team. I know Jet fans are frothing at the mouth to cheer like that, and we want to give it to them. I personally want to give it to them the most."

Wilson added: "That gives us a taste of what it might look like when we figure this thing out... we're excited for the opportunity." Game 1 of the NBA Finals is set for Wednesday, June 3, in San Antonio.
