Korda entered the final round with a five-shot lead and maintained her composure throughout, as no competitor managed to close within four shots during the afternoon. She finished with a two-under 70, sealing a wire-to-wire victory that was never truly contested. The 27-year-old seized control on Thursday with a five-iron to five feet for birdie on her 16th hole of the opening round, and she never relinquished the lead.
Historic Achievement
This win marks Korda's 17th LPGA title and 21st worldwide. She joins Juli Inkster (1989) and Amy Alcott (1991) as the only players in the last 50 years to win LPGA majors while leading by multiple shots after each round. Both Inkster and Alcott achieved this feat at the Nabisco Dinah Shore.
