Eamonn Holmes is making a significant move in his new relationship, reportedly purchasing a luxurious new home in Northern Ireland to share with his girlfriend, Katie Alexander. This development comes as his ex-wife, Ruth Langsford, prepares to release a deeply personal memoir detailing the breakdown of their 27-year partnership.
A Fresh Start in Holywood
Television presenter Eamonn Holmes, 66, has reportedly invested in a brand-new property in the upmarket town of Holywood, County Down. The plush pad is intended as a weekend retreat for him and his partner, relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior at 44. The couple began dating shortly after Holmes's separation from his wife and former This Morning co-host, Ruth Langsford, 65, in June 2024.
A source close to the presenter revealed the motivation behind the purchase, stating, "Eamonn loves going back to Northern Ireland visiting family and he’s been after a new place there for a while. It will be the perfect place to build a home with Katie, with no memories of anyone else." The property is also said to be ideal for customisation to accommodate Holmes's mobility needs following health issues.
Ruth Langsford's Path Forward
While Holmes looks to the future, Ruth Langsford is reflecting on the past. The Loose Women star has announced the upcoming release of her book, Ruth Langsford Feeling Fabulous, scheduled for publication on 26th February 2026.
In a recent Instagram post, Langsford teased the content, describing it as a collection of "stories about my life, the ups and the downs, the good and the not so good but everything that has made me the woman I am today." She confirmed she will share "the experiences that have shaped me and the lessons I’ve learned along the way," which is widely interpreted to include the end of her marriage.
Langsford has also been open about seeking professional support since the split. "I started counselling when Eamonn and I separated, and I'm still having it. It is very powerful and very useful," she told woman&home. She described the process as helping her to move on and not be "held back" by the end of the long relationship, adding optimistically, "I definitely see light in the future where I didn't before."
Navigating the Aftermath of a Split
The separation, which ended a 14-year marriage and a 27-year relationship, has been complex. Reports suggest the pair are yet to officially divorce and are involved in financial discussions, including the potential sale of their marital home. Friends of Langsford have previously suggested she grew weary of a carer role following Holmes's hip operation, while it later emerged he was in a relationship with Alexander, whom he had met years prior. There is no suggestion that Holmes was unfaithful during the marriage.
Holmes has faced separate financial challenges, having previously stated he was "ruined" by an HMRC investigation into his tax status during his time on This Morning. Both parties have largely refrained from publicly commenting on each other since their separation, choosing instead to focus on their individual new chapters—Holmes on a fresh home and relationship, and Langsford on healing and her literary debut.
