Luxury Waterfront Home Sells for a Cool $5 Million

Robert Stavrides, the former long-serving head of Chanel Korea, has completed the multi-million dollar sale of his spectacular resort-style mansion on Queensland's Gold Coast. The property at Paradise Waters fetched an impressive $5 million, according to reports.

The Australian businessman and his wife, Sarina, originally purchased the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home back in 2014 for $2.153 million. The sale therefore represents a significant profit, nearly doubling their initial investment over the decade.

A Slice of Paradise on the Nerang River

Designed by an architect, the home is built right on the edge of the Nerang River and boasts an expansive 23 metres of water frontage, complete with a private sandy beach. Key features that defined the luxury residence include:

  • Soaring ceilings and an undercover entertainment deck.
  • A swimming pool and a floating pontoon for direct water access.
  • A lavish main bedroom suite occupying an entire corner, with a walk-in wardrobe and en suite.
  • An oversized kitchen with a breakfast bar and separate dining space.
  • Stylish imported finishes, including French windows and Italianate flooring.
  • A private study and a secluded garden.

The property was marketed as offering stunning river views and a true resort-style living experience.

Staying Put for a New Chapter

Despite the sale, the Stavrides family are not leaving the sought-after Paradise Waters area. The Gold Coast Bulletin reports that the retired executive plans to remain in the locale. Property records indicate he is set to construct a new mansion on a nearby block of land he purchased in 2021 for $3.96 million.

This move continues a strategic shift to the Gold Coast that began a few years ago. Previously based in Sydney's exclusive Point Piper, the couple listed their garden apartment in the Kilmory estate to relocate north and be closer to family. That three-bedroom heritage apartment sold in May 2021 for $11.8 million to finance guru David Cobcroft and his wife, Anne.

Details regarding the buyer of the Paradise Waters mansion have not been disclosed, with the listing noting the property was 'under contract'. The sale underscores the enduring strength and appeal of the Gold Coast's premium waterfront property market.
