Hugh Jackman's $15M Bondi Penthouse: Actor Keeps Luxury Base Post-Divorce
Hugh Jackman holds onto $15M Bondi penthouse after divorce

Hugh Jackman is firmly holding onto his multi-million dollar slice of Bondi Beach paradise, signalling a long-term commitment to his Australian roots despite his high-profile divorce. The actor, 57, has decided against selling his luxurious penthouse, valued at a reported $15 million, which he purchased back in 2015 for $5.9 million.

A Permanent Base Down Under

Sources indicate the 'Wolverine' star plans to retain the 125-square-metre property as his permanent Australian residence. "Why would he ever sell it?" an insider questioned the Wentworth Courier, emphasising, "It's the best spot in Bondi Beach." This decision follows his split from Deborra-Lee Furness, his wife of 27 years, with their divorce finalised in June 2025.

The property, which boasts idyllic, panoramic ocean views, offers an impressive Australian backdrop. It is a feature he can now share with his girlfriend, Broadway star Sutton Foster, 50. The penthouse was previously listed for permanent rent at $10,000 per week until February 2022 and briefly for short-term rental in 2024 at $2,400 per night. Its removal from the rental market further suggests Jackman intends to use the home more frequently himself, potentially into 2026.

Inside the Hollywood-Standard Luxury

The three-bedroom residence epitomises high-end coastal living. Its spacious, open-plan design includes a state-of-the-art kitchen and European oak timber floors. The generous balcony facilitates seamless indoor-outdoor flow, perfect for Bondi's climate.

Key luxury features of the penthouse include:

  • A master bedroom with an ensuite featuring Minerva limestone and Juliet balconies.
  • Two additional queen bedrooms with custom built-in robes.
  • Secure parking for two vehicles and direct lift access.

The building is equipped with all modern conveniences, making it a plush and private retreat for the actor when he visits his home country, where he is often spotted at the iconic beach.

Divorce Settlement and Property Division

Jackman retained the Bondi property as part of the divorce proceedings. The settlement saw the former couple list their luxurious apartment in New York's West Village for AUD$60 million (US$39 million) in June 2025. That property, bought in 2008 for AUD$32 million, remains on the market.

Additionally, Furness reportedly bought out Jackman's stake in their other New York property—a three-bedroom Manhattan penthouse purchased in 2022 for AUD$31.6 million. The pair, who announced their separation in 2023 after nearly three decades of marriage, have not publicly disclosed the reasons for their split.

However, in May 2025, Furness appeared to allude to the circumstances, releasing a statement about the "traumatic journey of betrayal." She wrote, "It's a profound wound that cuts deep," while expressing her belief in a "higher power" to help navigate the breakdown. Meanwhile, Jackman was most recently seen on a romantic getaway with Sutton Foster in Costa Rica, having last been in Australia in December 2024.
