Reality television stars Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval have finally reached a resolution in their protracted legal dispute over a shared $2 million property in Los Angeles. The former couple, whose split was broadcast to the world nearly three years ago, have agreed to a conditional settlement, averting a trial for now.
The Path to a Conditional Agreement
The legal saga began in January 2024 when Madix, 40, filed a lawsuit against her former partner. She sought a court order to force the sale of the San Fernando Valley home they purchased together in 2019, intending to split the proceeds with Sandoval, 43. According to documents seen by The Daily Mail, Madix wanted a 'partition by sale' and was opposed to any arrangement that would allow either party to retain ownership interest.
Sandoval initially resisted the action, rejecting the request on legal grounds and countering that he had offered his ex-girlfriend $3.1 million in cash to buy her out—an offer she declined. By October 2024, however, his position appeared to shift, as he stated on his podcast that the house was being prepared to go on the market.
Terms and Potential Trial Date
A notice filed in Los Angeles Superior Court this week revealed the pair have come to a 'conditional' settlement. The case will be formally dismissed upon the 'completion of specified terms,' though the precise details remain confidential. A final hearing is scheduled for February 5.
Should the terms of the agreement not be met, the former couple could still head to trial. A trial date has been set for February 17, leaving a narrow window for the settlement to be fully executed.
Moving On From 'Scandoval'
The legal battle over the house was the last remaining tie from a relationship that ended explosively in 2023 after Sandoval's affair with fellow Vanderpump Rules castmate Rachel Leviss—a scandal dubbed 'Scandoval.' Remarkably, the pair continued living together in the property for a time after the split.
Both have since moved on in their personal and professional lives. Madix has purchased a $1.6 million home in the Hollywood Hills and is in a relationship with Daniel Wai, whom she has publicly praised. She has also secured high-profile hosting roles on programmes like Love Island USA and The Voice.
Sandoval has been dating model Victoria Lee Robinson since 2024 and hinted at plans to move in together. He has spoken positively about being with someone not deeply embedded in the reality TV world.
With this conditional settlement, one of the final chapters in the very public dissolution of Madix and Sandoval's nine-year relationship appears to be nearing its close, allowing both parties to fully focus on their new beginnings.
