Rescue Operations and Structural Concerns
Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Jeffrey Thompson provided updates on the rescue efforts, noting that crews managed to save three people from the wreckage. One of those rescued was critically injured and later died at the hospital, while the other two were treated and released. Thompson explained the challenges posed by the building's instability, saying, "We’re actually going to deconstruct and delayer this building and that will make it safe for my members to get inside and get down to the lowest levels to ensure that we don’t have any survivors down there."
