An otter survey commissioned by the couple confirmed the presence of otter holts near the proposed construction site.
Dr Leon Durbin, an otter specialist, emphasised that a 650-foot exclusion zone must be strictly enforced to prevent harm to the animals. Additionally, a licence from NatureScot will be required before any construction work can commence, ensuring compliance with wildlife protection measures.
