Premier League footballer Kieran Trippier has finally offloaded his luxurious six-bedroom mansion after nearly two years on the market, accepting a significant price reduction following his marital separation. The England international, who recently announced his departure from Newcastle United at season's end, sold the property for £2,675,000—a stark contrast to the initial £3.8 million asking price set in July 2024.
Property Details and Price Reduction
The impressive 12,500 square foot mansion, located on an exclusive private road in Northumberland, was originally listed for £3.8 million after Trippier's marriage to Charlotte, 37, began to falter. With no buyers emerging, the price was lowered to £3 million last year before the final sale at £2,675,000 was secured, representing a loss exceeding £1 million from the original valuation.
Luxury Features and Renovations
Trippier and Charlotte purchased the 'dream home' for £3.1 million in 2022, shortly after the defender returned to England from his stint with Atletico Madrid in Spain. The couple invested a six-figure sum in refurbishing the property, which boasts opulent interiors and state-of-the-art technology.
The mansion features a cinema, games room, and a 'spectacular leisure suite' complete with swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and changing facilities. The games room notably displayed framed shirts from football legends including Lionel Messi and Mo Salah, part of Trippier's collection of 200 jerseys from his career.
Estate agents described the property as 'truly a dream home that combines luxury living with an idyllic location,' highlighting meticulously designed interiors and beautifully landscaped grounds. The ground floor includes two formal reception rooms and a stunning open-plan kitchen, dining, and family area with south-facing aspect ideal for entertaining.
Marital Breakdown and Aftermath
The couple, who have three children together, met when Trippier played for Burnley and married in Cyprus in 2016 after getting engaged the previous year. Speculation about their relationship intensified when Charlotte did not join other WAGs in Germany for England's Euro 2024 campaign.
Charlotte posted a cryptic Instagram message just before England's final group game against Slovenia, writing: 'Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you'd never get over and it's the best feeling in the world.' Following the tournament, Trippier retired from international football, and the couple took separate holidays—Trippier to Turkey with teammate Kyle Walker, and Charlotte to Santorini with her sister.
After the home was listed for sale, Charlotte moved back to the northwest with their children, settling into a mansion in Cheshire and reportedly removing her wedding ring. The property sale marks a significant chapter closure for both parties as they navigate their separate paths forward.
