Television personality and model Vogue Williams has officially closed the chapter on her family's life in a luxurious London apartment, marking a significant move to what she calls their "forever home." The 40-year-old shared the milestone with her followers on Instagram this Friday, posting a poignant clip of her emptied flat and her children's excitement in their new temporary space.
End of an Era in Battersea
Vogue Williams and her husband, Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, have finally sold the Battersea apartment they first bought together just six months into dating. The couple, who married in 2018 and share three children—Theodore, eight, Gigi, six, and Otto, four—initially listed the property two years ago for £5.25 million. After struggling to sell, they dramatically reduced the asking price by a staggering £1 million, eventually securing a sale for the flat now reported to be worth £4.25 million.
In a recent YouTube vlog, an emotional Vogue confirmed the sale, stating, "We sold our apartment. It's gone. End of an era. The apartment is gone." She shared a clip to her Instagram Stories showing the spacious, two-floor apartment completely bare of furniture, symbolising the fresh start for the growing family.
A Temporary Stop Before Dream Renovations
The family's next step is not a direct move into their new permanent residence. Instead, they have taken up a rented property nearby to allow their children to remain in their current schools. This temporary home is where Vogue captured the heartwarming moment her four-year-old son, Otto, saw his new room for the first time. In the clip, an elated Otto runs and climbs onto his green bed, full of joy.
This rental arrangement is set to last for the next 18 months, the estimated time required for extensive renovations on their newly purchased "forever home." Vogue gave fans a tour of the period property back in June, revealing it is located just down the road from their old flat. The extensive work needed means the family must wait before settling in.
Expanding for a Growing Family
The decision to move was driven by a need for more practical space. Last year, Vogue explained the limitations of their stylish apartment, noting, "Our apartment in London is great. It’s two floors, but the kids can’t be downstairs on their own. It just doesn't work for our family at that age. It’s too small." The couple had previously expanded and renovated the Battersea flat to accommodate their family, but ultimately outgrew it.
While establishing their long-term London base, the couple also maintains strong ties to Ireland. In late 2023, they purchased a family home in Howth, Dublin, though work commitments continue to necessitate a significant presence in the UK capital.
For now, the family is on day five of their moving process, embracing the chaos and excitement that comes with a major life transition. The move represents a carefully planned next step, prioritising family needs and a long-term vision for their home life in London.
