Mohamed Salah has received an approach from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli after leaving Liverpool on a free transfer, according to reports. The 34-year-old called time on his nine-year stint at Liverpool at the end of last season, having helped the club win eight major trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.
Salah's contract termination and free agency
Salah reached an agreement with Liverpool to terminate his £400,000-a-week contract a year early, leaving him free to join a new club this summer. According to Sky Sports, Al-Ahli have made an initial approach for Salah to discuss the Egypt international's salary demands.
No agreement has been reached between Al-Ahli and Salah, while the Saudi club are also considering a move for Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi. Al-Ahli, who finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season, are looking to secure a marquee attacking signing this summer after agreeing to terminate Riyad Mahrez's contract. Mahrez joined Al-Ahli from Manchester City in a £30 million deal three years ago.
Salah's future plans and options
Salah said in May that he had 'a lot of options' available following his decision to leave Liverpool. 'Honestly, physically I feel I have a lot to give,' Salah told TNT Sports. 'I feel very good, I played many games this season, plus the Africa Cup. I didn't decide yet what I'm going to do, to be fair, I have a lot of options, which are good options.'
'The most important thing is, physically I feel fine. I feel what I did over the years paid off. I feel my body is good. I was laughing with the players in the national team because I run more than them, I told them 33 years old, running 120 minutes more than you guys! But I feel very good, physically I'm fine. I will see what's the best for me,' Salah added.

Bookmakers have priced any Saudi Pro League team as the most likely destination at 8/11, followed by any MLS team at 15/8. Other potential clubs include Roma (10/1), Barcelona (11/1), Paris Saint-Germain (11/1), Newcastle United (11/1), AC Milan (12/1), Real Madrid (12/1), Juventus (14/1), Bayern Munich (22/1), and Tottenham (25/1).
