Royal Caribbean is expanding its exclusive private beach club portfolio with a groundbreaking new venture in the southern hemisphere. The cruise line has announced that Royal Beach Club Lelepa will open in October 2027 on the island nation of Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean, marking its first such destination in the South Pacific region.
A Free Island Escape for Cruise Passengers
In a significant departure from its existing private beach clubs, entry to Royal Beach Club Lelepa will be completely free for all Royal Caribbean cruise passengers. This means guests will not need to purchase any day passes or additional tickets to access the facility, which is set to become a standard inclusion on every South Pacific sailing from Sydney and Brisbane starting in October 2027.
Dual Beach Experiences and Extensive Amenities
The beach club will feature two pristine beaches, catering to different passenger preferences. One beach will be an adults-only retreat, offering a serene and tranquil environment, while the other will be an activity-packed family beach designed for all ages.
Guests can look forward to a wide range of activities, including relaxing on the sandy shores, hiking along a scenic nature trail, and snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters surrounding the island. The club will also boast an impressive selection of 10 bars and numerous dining areas, ensuring ample options for refreshments and meals throughout the day.
Strategic Expansion in the South Pacific
Royal Caribbean's move into Vanuatu aligns with its increased presence in the region. The cruise line will have two vessels operating there next year, namely Anthem of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas. Itineraries will include short getaways, weekend sailings, and longer holidays departing from Sydney and Brisbane, covering destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider South Pacific.
Gavin Smith, vice president and managing director for the region, commented on the expansion, stating, "With an expanded lineup of weekend sailings, short escapes, and longer ways to holiday, we're giving travellers even more reasons to explore fan-favourite destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific."
Global Beach Club Portfolio Growth
This announcement follows Royal Caribbean's recent ventures into private beach clubs worldwide. The cruise line opened its first private beach club in the Caribbean in December and is set to launch a Mediterranean version in Santorini, along with another in Cozumel, Mexico, this summer. The addition of Royal Beach Club Lelepa represents a strategic step in diversifying its offerings and enhancing the cruise experience for passengers in the southern hemisphere.
