Tragic Collision Claims Two Lives
A devastating road traffic accident in County Fermanagh has resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The incident involved a Bus Éireann coach and a Ford Kuga car on the evening of Friday, 28 November.
Emergency Services Rush to the Scene
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed they were called to the Derrylin Road near Enniskillen shortly after 7pm. Officers attended alongside other emergency service partners. A spokesperson for the PSNI stated, "Officers attended, alongside emergency service partners, however the two occupants of the Kuga were pronounced deceased at the scene."
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) received a 999 call at 19:00. In response, they dispatched a significant number of resources to the incident. Two Rapid Response Paramedics, two Emergency Crews, and an Ambulance Officer were sent to the location.
Bus Passengers Escape Serious Injury
In a statement that brought a small measure of relief from the tragedy, the PSNI confirmed that there were no reports of any serious injuries to the driver or passengers of the bus at that time. Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service also confirmed that no patients were transported to hospital.
