A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man in west London, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Suspect Charged and Remanded
Awap Halouf, of Hambro Road in Lambeth, south London, was arrested on suspicion of murder in Cardiff on Sunday. He has since been charged with murder and possession of a blade in a public place. Halouf has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in south-west London on Tuesday.
Details of the Incident
Police were called at approximately 1.47am last Tuesday to reports of a stabbing at the junction of Bath Road and Great Southwest Road in Hounslow, west London. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found Haruun Hassan suffering from serious injuries. Despite paramedics' efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation and Additional Arrest
A murder investigation was subsequently launched. A 21-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of murder in Cardiff on Sunday but has been bailed pending further inquiries. Haruun’s family continue to receive support from specialist officers, police said.
