Reality television personality Leida Margaretha, known from the TLC series '90 Day Fiancé', is confronting a staggering 24 felony charges in the American state of Wisconsin. The charges, which span a five-month period, follow multiple arrests last year and add another tumultuous chapter to her life, which has recently been marred by personal tragedy.
A Catalogue of Serious Allegations
According to court documents initially reported by TMZ and obtained by the Daily Mail, the 36-year-old faces a formidable list of accusations. Prosecutors have charged her with seven counts of bail jumping, six counts of wire fraud, ten counts of forgery, and one count of stealing over $10,000 from a business. The alleged crimes are said to have occurred between November 2023 and March 2024.
Margaretha has a court hearing scheduled for Sunday, 18 February in Juneau County. Notably, she has not yet been taken into custody regarding this specific set of charges. If convicted, reports from Us Weekly suggest she could face up to six years in prison and fines of $10,000.
A Year of Personal and Legal Turmoil
This legal onslaught comes after an intensely difficult period in Margaretha's personal life. In early July, her estranged husband, Eric Rosenbrook—whom she met on the sixth season of '90 Day Fiancé' in 2018—was arrested on misdemeanour charges for allegedly assaulting her.
Tragically, just days later, the couple's five-week-old newborn daughter, Alisa, passed away. The cause of death remains unknown and is under an ongoing investigation by the Adams County Sheriff's Office. Rosenbrook previously revealed the infant had been on life support for five days before her death.
In the wake of this loss, Margaretha filed a petition for legal separation from Rosenbrook after seven years of marriage, and was granted a temporary restraining order alleging abuse since their 2018 wedding. The separation filing was later dismissed, and the couple appeared to reconcile.
A History of Legal Entanglements
This is far from Margaretha's first encounter with the law. Her recent legal troubles include:
- An arrest in early 2023 on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and mistreatment of an animal.
- A bail jumping charge in July 2023 after she failed to update her phone number with the court in a separate case.
- Two counts of identity theft filed in September 2023, where she was accused of using customer banking information from her workplace to pay personal bills or those of a company she co-owned, Proud American Logistics.
While some charges from a 2023 arrest were dismissed in November 2024, the new felony allegations present her most serious legal challenge to date. Following a previous arrest, a judge ordered her to surrender her passport, having reportedly travelled to Indonesia after her baby's death.
The case continues to develop, with the upcoming February hearing set to be a critical next step in proceedings that intertwine celebrity culture, serious alleged financial crimes, and profound personal heartbreak.
