Former Metropolitan Police officer Sunna Harrison-Aziz, 28, has pleaded not guilty to scamming luxury stores out of thousands of pounds worth of goods, including a £700 Dior bikini and a MacBook. The ex-constable, from Coulsdon, South London, appeared at Southwark Crown Court yesterday to deny all 10 charges against her.
Details of the Allegations
Harrison-Aziz is accused of a series of corruption-related and fraud offences, including claims that she pretended not to have received items she ordered online. The charges include five counts of corrupt or improper exercise of police powers and privileges, four allegations of fraud by false representation, and one count of perverting the course of justice.
Specifically, she allegedly falsely claimed she had not received a £700 Dior bikini, an Apple MacBook worth £2,599 from Currys, a £1,920 Cartier Mini Love wedding band, and an £840 Moncler Abelle jacket.
Additional Charges and Co-Defendants
Between January and September 2022, Harrison-Aziz is also accused of improperly accessing police files on five occasions. Furthermore, she faces an allegation of attempting to pervert the course of justice by hiding her iPhone from police, claiming it was lost and broken, and then allegedly destroying it after a police search of her home.
Two other defendants appeared in court. Edgar Morais, 30, from Croydon, denied one count of encouraging Harrison-Aziz to corruptly or improperly exercise her police powers. Eugene Nunoo, 30, from Eastbourne, East Sussex, also pleaded not guilty to a similar charge. Nunoo appeared via video link.
Trial Date Set
Judge Nicholas Rimmer set a trial date for March 27, 2028, apologising for the delay due to court schedules. Harrison-Aziz remains on bail until then.
