A major police incident unfolded at a south-west London Tube station this morning after a man was stabbed in the head, forcing authorities to lock down the location.

Station Lockdown After Morning Attack

The violent assault took place at Colliers Wood Underground station shortly before 10.30am on Wednesday, 17 December 2025. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, rushed to the scene following reports of a fight involving knives.

British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed they were called to the station at 10.30am to reports of "a fight between three young men involving knives." The incident prompted an immediate lockdown of the station as officers secured the area.

Victim Hospitalised, Suspect in Custody

The victim, a man who sustained a head injury in the attack, was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews. He was then taken to a major trauma centre for further treatment, where his condition remains unknown.

BTP officers arrested a man in his 20s at the station on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. The arrested man was also taken to hospital with injuries, but these are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Enquiries into the shocking daylight attack are ongoing. British Transport Police have now issued a public appeal for information.

"Anyone who has information or witnessed the incident is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 211 of 17 December," a spokesperson said.

The London Ambulance Service detailed their response, stating they sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a paramedic in a fast response car to the SW19 station after receiving the call at 10.29am.

The incident caused significant disruption at the station, which is on the Northern Line, during the late morning period. Commuters were advised to avoid the area while the police investigation was carried out.
