Scotland Yard reported that officers were summoned at 7:29 AM on Wednesday following reports of individuals falling from a height in Elephant and Castle, south London. A man, a woman, and a child tragically lost their lives after plummeting from a high-rise residential building.
Police Response and Investigation
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that all three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, despite resuscitation attempts. The force is treating the deaths as “unexpected” and is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Ambulance Service Details
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service provided further details: “We dispatched multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast-response car, an incident response officer, and paramedics from our hazardous area response team. Additionally, a trauma team from London’s air ambulance was sent in a car. Our first paramedic arrived within approximately four minutes. Regrettably, despite the best efforts of our crews, three people were declared dead at the scene.”
The incident has prompted a broader inquiry by authorities, who are appealing for any witnesses or information that might shed light on the events leading to the fall. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
