A television chef was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault last month and has since been released on bail while investigations proceed.

The well-known TV personality was detained at his residence following reports of alleged offences to the police. He was arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. Following the arrest, the chef was taken into custody and questioned for several hours at a police station in central London before being released on bail.
The arrest was first reported by The Telegraph, which stated that a Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed an arrest had been made after the alleged victim filed a complaint. The spokesman noted that specially trained officers are supporting the woman as the investigation continues.
Official Statement
The spokesperson told The Telegraph: “A man was arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent on Saturday, 11 April. This relates to sexual offences which reportedly occurred at an address in January.” They added that the woman is believed to have first contacted police in April, and the alleged offences are said to have taken place in London in January. The Telegraph also reported that the arrested man has appeared on multiple television programmes.
Little else is known about the case, other than that inquiries are ongoing and the chef remains on bail. As of yet, he is not thought to have been charged with any crime, and the Crown Prosecution Service has not been involved.
