Lee Andrews, the husband of Katie Price, has strongly denied claims that he was detained and prevented from leaving Dubai after he missed an appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain. The couple had been scheduled to make their first television appearance together on the show, which was set to broadcast live from London.
Missed Flight Leads to Speculation
Just hours before the programme was due to air, Katie Price expressed disappointment after Lee failed to arrive in the United Kingdom. The self-proclaimed millionaire resides in Dubai, where he conducts his business operations. Since their marriage earlier this year, shortly after meeting, Katie has been travelling frequently between the UK and Dubai to see her husband, despite ongoing regional tensions.
During the broadcast, Katie informed presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls that Lee had missed his flight due to work commitments. However, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office had earlier informed Good Morning Britain that they were assisting a British national who had been detained in the United Arab Emirates, leading to speculation that Lee was the individual in question.
Lee's Denial and Video Evidence
Lee Andrews subsequently spoke out via Instagram Stories, sharing a video to his 128,000 followers. He stated, “I didn’t make the Good Morning Britain, I am not detained, I am in the airport in Muscat, Oman.” He further claimed, “I don’t have any travel bans because I’ve already left the UAE… it’s not me.” In another video, he added, “I had a couple of things I had to do last-minute. Couldn’t make the show… Definitely not a wanted man.”
However, observers noted that the background in Lee's video appeared to be Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport, rather than Muscat International Airport as he claimed. This discrepancy has fueled continued speculation about his whereabouts.
Family Reactions and Clarifications
A representative for Katie Price confirmed that Lee had not met her children, Junior and Princess, in person, despite previous claims. A source close to the children stated that they have never met Lee. The situation remains unresolved, with Lee insisting he is en route to the UK to reunite with his wife.
This incident has generated significant media attention, with many questioning the veracity of the detention claims and the couple’s travel arrangements.
