Caroline Flack's Friends 'Beyond Heartbroken' After Brother Paul Dies

Friends of the late Caroline Flack have shared an emotional statement following the tragic death of her brother, Paul, as they continue to keep her legacy alive. Paul Flack died at the age of 55 on June 21, just three days after his birthday, and an inquest into his death has been opened.

Paul Flack's Death Confirmed

Norfolk Coroner's Court confirmed the news, sharing that an inquest into his death was opened on Monday, June 29. According to documents, he died in Norwich on June 21. An inquest will now be held on October 23. The inquest opening heard that more enquiries are needed before officials can confirm exactly what happened. No evidence relating to how Mr Flack died was given during Monday's inquest opening, other than confirmation of his identity and the provisional medical cause of death. Paul was born in Enfield on June 18, 1971, meaning he died just three days after his 55th birthday. He is survived by his partner and their two children.

Statement from Caroline's Friends

Following the publication of the tragic news, Caroline's friends, including writer and presenter Dawn O'Porter and presenter Natalie Pinkham, who launched Flackstock, a festival to raise money for mental health charities following her death, took to the event's Instagram page with a statement. It read: 'We are beyond heartbroken by Paul Flack's passing. We loved Paul so deeply, and this news has shattered us all. Paul was funny, kind and loving. He gave the best hugs and had the most brilliant laugh. We will miss him so much.'

The statement continued: 'Flackstock exists as a festival to give people hope. To remember those who have been lost, and to hold a hand out to anyone who is struggling. This news is hard to hear and hard to share. Right now, our focus is supporting the Flack family however we can, so please bear with us while we grieve someone we loved so very, very much. Background on Caroline Flack

Caroline Flack, known for presenting Love Island, took her own life at the age of 40 in February 2020 after learning that prosecutors were going to press ahead with an assault charge, which came after she hit her boyfriend Lewis Burton with her phone over concerns he had been cheating on her. Her death prompted an outpouring of grief and led to increased awareness of mental health issues.
