Kansas City Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt has celebrated her upcoming wedding by hosting a lavish party to ask some of her closest friends to be her bridesmaids. The daughter of billionaire team owner Clark Hunt shared images from the decadent event in Dallas on her social media accounts.
This celebration comes just a month after Gracie accepted a proposal from her fiancé, Derek Green, the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green. Gracie revealed that she has an impressive 14 bridesmaids in her wedding party.
Among those honored with the role are her sister, Ava Hunt, who will serve as maid of honor, and Derek's sister, Janelle Green, a volleyball player at the University of Toledo. Another member of the bridal party is Kayla Sharples, a centerback for the NWSL's Kansas City Current, a team co-owned by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
In an Instagram post, Gracie expressed her gratitude: 'Looking around this room, I couldn't help but thank God for the way He so intentionally placed each one of these amazing women (& @mr.austinryde) into my life. Through every season, they've loved me, prayed for me, encouraged me, challenged me, and helped shape me into who I am today. I truly would not be the same without them.'
She continued: 'There is something so special about being surrounded by women who make you feel stronger, wiser, softer, and closer to Jesus just by knowing them. My heart is overwhelmingly grateful for each of these friendships and the gift of getting to do life together. Forever thankful for my squad.'
In a separate post, Gracie thanked her mother, Tavia Hunt, for organizing the event. 'Still can't get over how special this day felt,' the former Miss Kansas USA wrote. 'Every little detail was so thoughtful and full of love, and I know how much time, energy, and heart went into making it all happen. Thank you @TaviaHunt for planning the most beautiful bridesmaids proposal and engagement party. I'm forever thankful for this season, these memories, and the people who make life so sweet.'
Gracie and Derek met at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where Derek played quarterback from 2018 to 2021.
