Claudia Winkleman, the host of BBC's The Traitors, has unleashed a fiery rant about summer, calling it 'annoying' and criticising its 'arrogance'. In an interview with The Mail, the 52-year-old presenter expressed her disdain for the season, saying she dislikes summer clothes, water, and the general attitude associated with it.
'I hate summer. I find it so annoying. I don't like water. I don't like the arrogance. I don't like summer clothes. I'm never going to be like, "Oh, I've got a great salad recipe with beetroot,"' Winkleman stated.
Summer Heatwave and Winkleman's Wardrobe Preferences
The comments come as Europe experiences a scorching heatwave, with the UK recording its hottest June day three days in a row. On Friday, temperatures reached 37.3°C in Suffolk. Winkleman, known for her thick tweed outfits reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands, reportedly cannot wait to return to her colder-weather attire.
According to The Mail's Harriet Kean, the former Strictly Come Dancing star 'can't wait' to get back into her Highland outfits. Winkleman's stylist of two decades, Sinead McKeefry, shared details about the challenges of dressing the host for The Celebrity Traitors, particularly when the weather turns.
'It really turned. And trying to get things to that castle is not easy. I spend a lot of time on the phone to DHL. Amazon's party section has also got us out of a hole,' McKeefry told Hello! magazine.
Winkleman's Reaction to New Strictly Presenters
In other news, Winkleman recently praised the BBC's announcement of the new Strictly Come Dancing presenting line-up: Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe, who will step in for her and Tess Daly this year. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: 'MAGNIFICENT. What a trio,' alongside red heart emojis. Tess Daly also expressed excitement, posting with heart and fire emojis: 'Can't wait to tune in the ultimate trio!'
Winkleman and Daly announced their exit from the show in October last year, stating that it 'felt like the right time' to move on after the 2025 series. In a joint statement, they said: 'We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time. We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They're the most brilliant team and we'll miss them every day.'
Fans have reportedly embraced the news, dubbing the new presenters as 'epic' and 'brilliant'.
