Coldplay kisscam woman speaks on '16 seconds that ruined my life'
Coldplay kisscam woman breaks silence on viral moment

The woman at the centre of a global viral scandal after being filmed by a Coldplay concert kisscam has broken her silence, describing the incident as "the 16 seconds that ruined my life."

Kristin Cabot, a former executive at Astronomer, has spoken publicly for the first time about the devastating fallout from the clip, which was captured at a Coldplay show in July and posted to TikTok by another attendee.

The Life-Changing Moment at the Concert

Recalling the instant she was spotlighted by the camera operated by frontman Chris Martin, Cabot said everything flashed before her eyes. "I could have been struck by lightning, I could have won the lottery, or this could have happened," she reflected.

The New Hampshire native emphasised her ordinary life, stating, "I’m not some celebrity, I’m just a mom from New Hampshire." She fiercely defended her privacy, adding, "Even if I did have an affair, it’s not anybody’s business."

A Scarlet Letter and Career Erasure

The aftermath of the video's virality was swift and brutal. Cabot described the experience as being marked with a digital "scarlet letter."

"People erased everything I’d accomplished in my life and achieved in my career," she revealed, detailing how the brief clip overshadowed her professional identity and personal achievements.

The impact extended to her family, causing panic and distress for her children. She has also been forced to contend with a barrage of horrific online trolls since the video spread across the internet.

Seeking a New Final Word

Despite the profound personal crisis, Cabot is determined not to let the viral moment define her. "This can’t be the final word," she asserted, signalling a fight to reclaim her narrative from the public spectacle.

The 16-second clip, filmed in July 2025, became one of the most-viewed TikTok videos of all time, turning a private moment into an unwanted international news story.
