The couple's connection runs deep, having known each other for nearly three decades through family ties. Emily's mother is the sister of Alistair's stepmother Jane Garner, creating a long-standing family connection that predates their romantic relationship.
They were originally introduced after Emily's aunt began dating Alistair's father Stephen Garner in the early nineties. The couple eventually married in 1994, though Stephen tragically passed away in 2023, leaving Emily devastated.
