Mia Fevola has spoken publicly about her close relationship with stepfather Brendan Fevola, describing him simply as 'my dad'. The 24-year-old shared her feelings in an interview with Stellar magazine, saying she cannot remember life before him.
Mia's biological father died by suicide just weeks after she was born. Her mother Alex later told the Herald Sun she initially protected her daughter by saying he had fallen from a tree. Brendan Fevola entered their lives a couple of years later.
'For as long as I can remember, that's been my life. I can't remember life before him,' Mia said. She attended Brendan's induction into the Carlton Football Club Hall of Fame earlier this year, posting highlights on Instagram with the caption 'Celebrating dad's Hall of Fame induction.'
Brendan Fevola, a two-time Coleman Medal winner, booted 575 goals in 187 games for Carlton. The family, including Mia's mother Alex and siblings Leni and Lulu, joined the celebrations.
