Frank Iero Tours Celtic Park Before Glasgow Show

My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero swapped the concert stage for Celtic Park ahead of the band's huge Glasgow Summer Sessions performance, enjoying a behind-the-scenes tour of the football stadium.

Stadium Tour and Personalised Shirt

The American rocker, 44, visited the home of Celtic Football Club before My Chemical Romance took to the stage at Bellahouston Park on Saturday night (July 4), where the band performed to thousands of fans as part of the city's annual summer sessions gigs. During his visit, Iero was given a personalised Celtic shirt bearing his name before exploring some of the stadium's most famous areas.

A video and photographs shared by the club's official social media pages showed the musician posing with his new football kit, sitting in the home dugout and making his way through the famous players' tunnel before stepping onto the pitch. He even took a moment to touch the turf as he soaked up the atmosphere inside the 60,000-capacity stadium.

My Chemical Romance's Legacy

Iero has been a member of My Chemical Romance since the band formed in 2001 and has played a key role in their rise to global fame. Alongside frontman Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarist Ray Toro, he helped shape the band's signature sound, which made them one of the defining rock acts of the 2000s. The group achieved worldwide success with albums including Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade, the latter featuring their biggest hit, "Welcome to the Black Parade," which reached number one in the UK in 2006. After initially splitting in 2013, the band reunited in 2019 and have since returned to touring, continuing to attract huge crowds across the world, including in Scotland.
