Graham Norton has shared some of the most memorable and awkward moments from his chat show, including an incident with Mark Wahlberg who appeared visibly drunk. During the episode, Wahlberg interrupted fellow guests Sarah Silverman and Michael Fassbender, repeatedly misunderstood a storyteller in the Red Chair segment, and eventually fell asleep on air.
Norton recalled the incident on This Morning, saying: 'I think it's that sort of thing when you finish drinking, that isn't the drunkest you're going to be. You realise when you get home, 'Ooh, I'm drunker than when I left the pub'. I think maybe there was a bit of a timelapse and he did get very drunk.' He added that they did not wake Wahlberg, as they were 'delighted' by the situation.
Other awkward moments include Miriam Margolyes telling Dominic Cooper she hated the film Mamma Mia, and criticising Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman in front of Matthew Perry. Singer Sinead O'Connor also caused a stir when she ripped open a prop CD cover to reveal it was empty, prompting Norton to joke he had left the real one in his car.
Norton described an interview with David Cassidy as 'one of the worst experiences of my life', calling the late singer 'bitter and weird'. Model Cara Delevingne became flustered when Norton tried to get her to tell a saucy story, reminding him her father was in the audience. Noel Gallagher handled an awkward moment with humour when Jack Black mistakenly said he had met Noel's brother Liam, with whom Noel is feuding.
Finally, Norton admitted to mixing up Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern with the late Bewitched actress Elizabeth Montgomery during an interview, a mistake he found embarrassing.
