Hannah Waddingham, known for her role in Ted Lasso, made a glamorous red carpet debut with her new partner, spinal surgeon Nick Beresford-Cleary, at the Variety Power Of Women event in London on Wednesday. The actress, 51, was seen coaching her boyfriend through the intricacies of posing for photographers, a world far removed from his usual hospital environment.

In a sweet video shared on Instagram, Waddingham pointed out which cameras to look at and guided Cleary as they posed together. She showed him how to sweep across the line of snappers, ensuring they captured the perfect shots. The couple appeared smitten, marking their first public appearance together after weeks of speculation.

Waddingham, who has not publicly named her boyfriend, was first linked to Cleary in March when they were photographed together at the Cheltenham Festival. On Wednesday, she stunned in a plunging halterneck gown with a thigh-high split, going braless and showcasing her hourglass figure.

Relationship Journey

Last month, Waddingham opened up about her love life in an interview with Women's Health UK, describing her new man as 'very good looking' and 'really lovely'. She admitted it had taken her eight years to feel ready for a new relationship after becoming a single mother when her relationship with Gianluca Cugnetto ended. Their daughter, Kitty, is now 11.

'I didn't really have the space mentally or emotionally for that,' Waddingham said. 'I've hunkered down and focused on my girl and me. [But] now I'm ready to stick my head above the parapet a bit more.' When asked if the parapet was good-looking, she laughed and confirmed it was, adding that the best part was being happy and strong in herself.

Single Motherhood and Career

Waddingham has previously spoken about manifesting her role in Ted Lasso after becoming a single mother. She found strength in herself, refusing to dwell on difficulties. 'I'm going to come out fighting because I know that I have so much to give in my career,' she said.

She emphasizes the challenges of single motherhood, noting that being a sole provider is different from being alone most of the time. 'She is undoubtedly my greatest achievement because of that,' Waddingham said of her daughter. She admitted that single parenthood could have derailed her career, but she persevered.
