Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan unleashed a furious, expletive-laden tirade against her ex-fiancé, footballer Scott Sinclair, on social media this week. The dramatic outburst was sparked after Sinclair shared images of a lavish weekend at the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix.
An Instagram Story Fuelled by Fury
The public row erupted on Tuesday evening. Scott Sinclair, 36, had posted a series of snaps to his Instagram feed showcasing his high-octane weekend abroad. The pictures featured views of the race track, socialising with friends, and time spent on a yacht, captioned simply: “What a weekend-Abu Dhabi F1”.
Helen Flanagan, 35, who shares three children with Sinclair, swiftly reacted. She reposted his glamorous images to her own Instagram Stories, but with a scathing commentary. She accused Sinclair of missing their youngest son Charlie's school nativity play, writing pointedly: "You really are a piece of s*** @scotty_sinclair how dare you not turn up to Charlie's nativity."
She followed this sharp dig with a picture of herself and four-year-old Charlie, tenderly calling him the 'best boy'. The Mirror has contacted representatives for Scott Sinclair for comment regarding Helen's claims.
A Relationship That 'Had Been a Long Time Coming'
The former couple, who were together for 13 years before separating in 2022, share three children: Matilda, 10, Delilah, seven, and Charlie, four. Earlier this year, Flanagan opened up about the difficult decision to end their relationship.
"Me and Scott really loved each other, but we were always quietly breaking up and then getting back together, so it had been a long time coming," she revealed. "In the end, it was me who decided. I’ll always be sad it didn’t work out and we still have love for each other, but we’re happier apart."
Navigating Co-Parenting After a Split
Despite aiming for an amicable separation for the sake of their children, Flanagan has admitted that tensions still arise. In an interview earlier this year, she stated: "Break-ups are so sad, and if you can deal with it in a way where you're on good terms, it's better for your mental health and 100% better for the kids."
However, she was candid about the ongoing challenges, confessing: "Don't get me wrong, sometimes we still end up telling each other to f**k off! But we've managed to keep things quite nice and we've been fair to each other. It's helped that our families get on and I have a good relationship with his mum."
The actress, who starred in last year's series of Celebs Go Dating and has admitted she's "not good at being single", is poised to share more details of her life and relationships in a forthcoming tell-all autobiography. The book, titled Head & Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie, is scheduled for release next year.
Speaking about the writing process, Flanagan said: "I was going to have to revisit painful times, digging deep into experiences I’d have much rather left buried in the past." She added: "I’ve made mistakes, I’ve been hurt and I’ve had to rebuild from rock bottom, but I’ve also learned, grown and come out the other side a better, stronger person. Telling my truth meant no hiding – no glossing over or airbrushing."
