Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo's Emotional Clash in Raising Chelsea Trailer
Former Made in Chelsea stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo are set to star in their own three-part series, which focuses on their romance and journey to becoming parents. The couple, who wed in April 2023, are the central figures in a brand new Disney+ series titled Raising Chelsea, scheduled to premiere next week.
Ahead of the series' release, Disney+ has unveiled a teaser trailer that offers a candid glimpse into the couple's lives. The trailer opens with Jamie, 37, and Sophie, 31, in the back of a car as Jamie explains, "We're currently heading to the Lindo Wing," before Sophie adds, "We think it's happening," referring to the birth of their first child.
Journey to Parenthood
The teaser then transitions into a montage that traces the couple's relationship from their initial meeting to their wedding and career highlights. These include Jamie's stint on Strictly Come Dancing and Sophie's work on their podcast. The couple announces, "And we're having a baby!" as the focus shifts to their path to parenthood.
Sophie confesses, "I've always wanted to be a mum," as scenes show the couple planning to conceive and attending midwife appointments. She describes pregnancy as a rollercoaster, with clips of her undergoing an ultrasound scan. In one emotional moment, Sophie is seen in tears as Jamie reassures her, "Nothing's the matter, I promise you."
Tense Confrontation
Jamie is featured in a confessional telling the camera, "The dynamic between Sophie and I; she's the boss and I'm the intern." The trailer then cuts to a particularly tense clash between the couple. A wide-eyed Jamie is seen sharply stating, "I'm stressed, I'm tired." The camera shifts to an emotional Sophie, who tears up as she says, "But you just go behind my back. That's so unacceptable."
The tension is further highlighted by a confessional from Jamie's mother, Penny Baines, who remarks, "This pregnancy, you'd think the Messiah was coming." The clips then show Sophie in hospital under observation, smiling before Jamie provides an update on the birth, revealing, "Bad news is that the baby, his arm is through the cervix, she needs to have an emergency C-section."
Emotional Birth Scenes
Emotional scenes follow as Jamie reassures Sophie during the emergency C-section. A newborn cry is heard, and a doctor asks, "Hear that sound?" The couple is overwhelmed with emotion as they welcome their son Ziggy, who was born in December. The trailer concludes with a quiet moment of Sophie at home, feeding baby Ziggy, and announces the series will be available to stream on April 2.
This series promises an intimate look at the challenges and joys of parenthood for the high-profile couple, blending heartfelt moments with raw, emotional conflicts.
