Just days after hosting a family Thanksgiving that included her ex-husband Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner was spotted on a substantial grocery run, suggesting her fridge was emptied by the holiday feast.
A Brimming Shopping Cart
The actress, 53, was seen leaving Vicente Foods in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 29, with a shopping cart filled to the brim with goodies and other supplies. This sighting came merely two days after she prepared a Thanksgiving meal for Affleck and their three children.
Garner was dressed casually for the outing, wearing red and white streaked leggings, a long-sleeved black shirt, and a faded red baseball cap. She completed her relaxed look with athletic socks, white trainers, and a ponytail, shielding her eyes from the autumn sun with a pair of shades.
Friendly Co-Parenting on Display
The Dallas Buyers Club star was observed chatting amicably with a man in the parking lot, who may have been a store employee or a fellow shopper. This friendly scene is another indicator of the cordial relationship she maintains with her former family.
This grocery trip followed a Thanksgiving where Ben Affleck, also 53, was spotted driving to Garner's home. His son Samuel, 13, was in the back seat, and his mother, Chris Boldt, was in the passenger seat, confirming the family gathering.
A source close to the situation told People, "Just like last year, Jen hosted Thanksgiving at her house. Ben and his mom joined. Jen makes it very special. She's such a great chef. She loves having her whole family together too. Ben's always welcome at her house."
A History of Amicable Separation
The former couple, who were married in 2005 and share three children—Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13—separated in 2015 and finalised their divorce in 2018. Despite this, they have remained on the best of terms for the sake of co-parenting their kids.
The source added that both Garner and Affleck "get along and really support each other" and that the actor is "doing well and staying focused on work, his health and his kids."
Earlier on Thanksgiving Day, before the family meal, Garner was also seen serving holiday fare to the homeless on Skid Row in Los Angeles with The Midnight Mission, a charitable tradition she has upheld, sometimes with Affleck and their children by her side.
Garner has been in a relationship with burger chain CEO John Miller since 2018, while Affleck's two-year marriage to Jennifer Lopez ended in 2024. Insiders note that, similar to his dynamic with Garner, Affleck has also maintained a peaceful relationship with Lopez.
