Jess Glynne's Heartfelt Message as Alex Scott Flies Home from I'm A Celeb
Jess Glynne's message for Alex Scott after I'm A Celeb

Singer Jess Glynne has posted a deeply affectionate public message for her partner, Alex Scott, confirming the football pundit is flying home early after being the first contestant eliminated from I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.

A Premature Exit for a Personal Reason

Alex Scott, the 41-year-old former Lioness, departed the Australian jungle this week. Breaking from the usual protocol where evicted celebrities remain in a local hotel until the finale, Alex revealed she would not be staying in Australia. Her motivation was a powerful personal one: to return to her partner, Jess Glynne, whose mother recently suffered a major stroke and underwent urgent brain surgery.

Alex stated she felt compelled to "go home and be her rock" during this challenging time for their family. She described the period as a "life-altering" event that required her presence and support.

Public Support and Private Heartache

On social media, Jess Glynne left no doubt about her pride and love for Alex. She celebrated her partner's authenticity in the jungle, writing, "Forever a winner! She walked in that jungle and was nothing but herself from start to finish."

Her post continued with a touching declaration: "We see you, we saw you and we love you! I can't wait to have you home my woman." The message was accompanied by a photo of Jess wearing a custom green t-shirt featuring a picture of Alex and the slogan "Alex for the win!". She also shared a video of herself with a group of friends all sporting the same supportive tops.

In a previous post following the elimination, Jess expressed her belief that Alex "didn't get the airtime to show how incredible she really is," but confidently added that this was "only the beginning" for the sports broadcaster.

The Reason Behind the Absent Bridge Reunion

Jess Glynne also addressed a question many viewers had: why she wasn't waiting for Alex on the famous bridge after her exit from the jungle. She explained her difficult personal circumstances, revealing the seriousness of her mother's health crisis.

"Over the last few weeks my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery," Jess wrote. "It's been a really serious, life-altering time for my family and I've had to stay close to home." This heartfelt explanation clarified that her priority was being with her mother during the recovery.

Alex confirmed that she had considered pulling out of the show entirely due to the situation back home. However, she said it was Jess who encouraged her to go through with it. "Jess never wanted me to step away from not doing it," Alex told The Mirror. "It was a big decision for me to not pass this opportunity, and Jess was the one that pushed me to be here."

With Jess unable to travel, it was Alex's close friend, Regan Coleman, who was waiting for her on the bridge for an emotional embrace. Alex admitted her first thought upon not seeing Jess was to immediately FaceTime her, and that being cut off from daily contact while in the jungle had been agonising.
