Jessie J has shared a candid health update following surgery for breast cancer, saying she is staying positive while awaiting test results. The 37-year-old singer, who underwent the procedure earlier this week, posted a list of 'pros and cons' on social media.
Among the positives, she wrote: 'Cancer is all gone. My nipple is where it used to be, I can watch Love Island with no guilt. My mum lives with us. Sky just being Sky. Chanan making me feel safe and the messages are 10/10.' However, she later clarified that she was expressing hope rather than fact, adding: 'I only had my surgery 4 days ago... And hopefully I can post that as a fact. But for now I don’t know.'
On the challenging side, she listed 'not being the mum I’m used to being and picking Sky up' and 'the pain and discomfort when trying to sleep'. The British hitmaker had announced her diagnosis earlier this month, saying she would 'disappear' for treatment shortly after performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball on June 15.
In an emotional speech at that show, she promised to 'beat breast cancer', calling it her final performance before surgery. Jessie J has faced multiple health issues in the past, including a heart condition diagnosed at age eight, a minor stroke at 18, and temporary deafness in 2020.
