Strictly Come Dancing professional Johannes Radebe moved co-star Lauren Oakley to tears during his final performance as drag queen Lola in the West End musical Kinky Boots. The emotional moment comes ahead of Radebe's new role as host of the BBC One dance show, alongside Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe.
Hosting Debut Announced
It was recently confirmed that Radebe, alongside presenter Emma Willis and comedian Josh Widdicombe, will take the helm of Strictly Come Dancing when it returns in September. The trio are the first to ever host the popular programme, replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who left their long-running roles at the end of the 2025 series in December.
Final Performance in Kinky Boots
Ahead of his presenting debut, Radebe has been enjoying his last performances as Lola in the hit musical Kinky Boots. On Thursday night (July 2), the South African star was supported in the audience by fellow Strictly professional Lauren Oakley. Oakley shared a video on her Instagram Story of Radebe taking his final bow, writing: "@johannesradebe I am so proud of you. For being you. So talented, so authentic, so kind. Congratulations on a beautiful performance. Friend! Boo child." She then added: "There were tears."
Support from Co-Hosts
Emma Willis, her husband Matt Willis, and Josh Widdicombe were also seen attending Radebe's performance. Widdicombe posted pictures on Instagram of the group showing their support, writing: "Incredible evening watching @johannesradebe absolutely smash the West End in Kinky Boots. Emma and I a bit too in love with him in the second pic."
