JoJo Siwa has quietly changed her name on TikTok to Joelle Siwa, marking the start of 2026 with a personal rebrand. The 22-year-old musician and internet personality updated her profile on New Year’s Eve, dropping the nickname JoJo in favour of her birth name, Joelle.
Fans spotted the change on her account, which has 46 million followers. In a Reddit thread, users noted that Siwa’s boyfriend, British reality star Chris Hughes, had also referred to her as “Joelle” in a since-expired Instagram story. Siwa was born Joelle Joanie Siwa but has been known as JoJo since her breakthrough on Dance Moms in 2015.
In her final TikTok of 2025, Siwa teased a big year ahead while lip-syncing to her 2016 song “Boomerang”. She wrote: “Any plans for 2026?” followed by “Me” and then the lyric: “I’ma come back like a boomerang.” Fans commented on the name change, with one writing: “Joelle feels so authentic, wishing you every happiness in 2026.”
In a joint interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine in December, Siwa and Hughes discussed their future. Hughes said he disliked the idea of proposing at Christmas, adding: “I kinda like the idea of it not being at a time where it could be expected.” He also ruled out Siwa proposing to him, saying it would make him “really uncomfortable”. Siwa joked that if he hadn’t proposed after seven years, she would take matters into her own hands.
The couple met earlier in 2025 in the Celebrity Big Brother house in the UK, initially claiming their relationship was “platonic”. After leaving the house, they were frequently spotted together, and Siwa split with her partner Kath Ebbs before confirming she was dating Hughes in June 2025.
