Kate Ritchie has dismissed speculation that she is returning to Home and Away, despite recent rumours suggesting she might reunite with former co-star Chris Hemsworth on the show. The actress, who played Sally Fletcher from 1988 to 2008, clarified that there are no plans for her to rejoin the cast.
Rumours began after Ritchie appeared on Nova's Fitzy & Wippa podcast, where co-host Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli hinted at a possible return involving a Hollywood star. He played a voicemail from an unidentified actor, which Ritchie guessed was Chris Hemsworth. However, Wippa did not confirm the identity.
Ritchie has often spoken about a potential return to Summer Bay, but no official announcement has been made by Channel Seven or Home and Away producers. The speculation intensified after she attended Ray Meagher's 80th birthday celebrations last month.
Hemsworth, who played Kim Hyde from 2004 to 2007, has become a major Hollywood star, known for roles in Thor and The Cabin in the Woods. He and Ritchie reunited in May when he appeared on her radio show to promote his film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
Despite the rumours, Ritchie has now ruled out any immediate return, putting an end to fan hopes of seeing her back in the Bay alongside Hemsworth.
