Lee Andrews has been released from Dubai's Al Awir prison after a four-week stint, and his wife Katie Price has shared the first photo of him following his release. The image, taken during a FaceTime call, shows Andrews looking tanned and smiling broadly, wearing a baseball cap.
Despite reports that Andrews owed £140,000 in fines, a source claimed that Price did not pay a penny towards his release. The source told The Sun: 'Lee is out, and back in his rental. He called Kate straight away and she was thrilled – not least because she didn’t pay a penny of the £140,000 fine to get him out.'
Price, who married Andrews in January, has faced criticism over her husband's past, with his ex-fiancée Alana Percival alleging he is a 'conman and a fraud'. Percival has spoken out on social media, claiming she has a police case against Andrews and urging Price to leave him.
Price has defended her decision to stay with Andrews, telling the publication: 'This is real, this is real life; this is my life. It has been a tough few weeks, don’t get me wrong. But I’ve still stayed strong through it all, and I have a smile on my face.' She added that she is in Dubai to help her husband.
Andrews had been arrested on suspicion of fraud, though he initially claimed he was detained for spying. Price had previously suggested he was kidnapped, but Percival doubted those allegations, calling them 'sick games'.
