Kelly Osbourne's Friends Defend Her After Cruel Weight Comments at BRITs

Kelly Osbourne's friends have spoken out in her defence after she faced cruel comments about her weight following her appearance at the BRIT Awards on 28 February. The 40-year-old attended the ceremony with her mother Sharon to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her late father Ozzy Osbourne, who died in 2025.

Some social media users made insensitive remarks about Kelly's appearance, with one comment saying she looked like a 'dead body' and was 'too thin and fragile'. The comments came as Kelly continues to grieve her father's death. A source told the Daily Mail that Kelly is 'just holding herself together' and that while Sharon seems in a better place, Kelly is still dealing with a lot of grief.

Kelly herself responded on Instagram, calling out the cruelty of attacking someone who is clearly struggling. She wrote: 'There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip and turning your back when I need support and love most.' She added that she is going through the hardest time of her life and should not have to defend herself.

Fans also rallied to support Kelly, with one writing: 'Grief will literally CONSUME you, they just don’t understand yet. I lost my dad too and I wish people would realize how f***ing hard it is to go on!!!' Another said: 'She is grieving the death of her father. Some of you could never understand how deep that really is.'

Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025 following a heart attack, after battling Parkinson's disease. His family have been open about their grief in the months since his death.
