Kym Marsh's £500k Success After Quitting £100k Coronation Street Role
Kym Marsh Earns Double After Leaving Coronation Street

Six years after her departure from the cobbles, former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has not only found success but has significantly increased her earnings, proving her decision to leave was a shrewd career move.

Financial Success Beyond the Rovers Return

When Kym Marsh, who played Michelle Connor for over a decade, said goodbye to Weatherfield in 2019, she left behind a £100,000-a-year role on the iconic ITV soap. However, any concerns about her future prospects have been firmly put to rest. Through a combination of acting roles and business ventures, the actress is now financially better off than ever.

Her company, Pade (Warrington) Ltd, is performing exceptionally well. An analysis of the firm's accounts indicates that Marsh has earned an impressive £500,000 over the last two years alone. This figure represents more than double her annual Coronation Street salary, showcasing a remarkable post-soap trajectory.

Embracing New Challenges and Raunchy Roles

Professionally, Marsh has embraced diverse opportunities. Earlier this year, she travelled to Australia to film the new drama The Imposter, starring alongside Dannii Minogue and Neighbours legend Jackie Woodburne. In the series, the 49-year-old plays Amanda, a woman whose existence was kept secret by her mother.

The role pushed Marsh into new territory, featuring some of her steamiest scenes to date. She has openly discussed the show's raunchy content, particularly in episode two, which features flashbacks to a passionate affair. "There was quite a lot of stuff that I believe they’ve had to tone down," Marsh revealed, adding that an executive producer praised her convincing performance.

Family, Heartbreak, and Future Cobbles Comebacks

Despite her professional highs, the past year has brought personal challenges. Marsh faced the heartbreak of losing her father, and being away from her family while filming in Australia was "really hard." She credits her strong support network, including her three children David, Emilie, and Polly, for helping her through demanding work periods.

While she is currently busy with a stage play tour and an upcoming role in Single White Female with Lisa Faulkner, Marsh hasn't closed the door on a Coronation Street return. She acknowledges the profound debt she owes to the soap, which provided her training in the industry. "I do love her, and I love the show. So at some point, it would be nice to think that I might go back," she stated, though she confirmed there are no immediate plans for a comeback.

From her beginnings in the pop band Hear'Say to a British Soap Award win and now a flourishing career as an actress and entrepreneur, Kym Marsh's journey demonstrates that life after the Street can be both personally fulfilling and financially rewarding.
