Nicole Richie's teenage daughter, Harlow Madden, has unveiled a new identity on her 18th birthday, now going by her middle name, Kate. The natural brunette has also dyed her hair jet black, a style she has been sporting for a few months. Her full name is Harlow Winter Kate Madden.
Richie, 44, shared a photo of her daughter on Instagram on Sunday, tagging Kate's account @katemaddenn. Both Richie and her husband Joel Madden, 46, posted a carousel of photos with the caption '18 years of you.' The couple also have a son, Sparrow, 16.
Kate is not the first celebrity child to change their name. Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott originally named their son Wolf before changing it to Aire, meaning Lion of God, because they felt Wolf did not suit his personality. Jenner admitted on The Kardashians that she 'never called him Wolf' and had 'crying in the shower' over the name.
Amy Schumer also changed her son's name in 2020 after realising his original middle name, Attell, combined with his first name Gene sounded like 'genital.' She and husband Chris Fischer changed it to David, using his friend Dave Attell's first name instead.
