Piers Morgan has launched a scathing attack on Prince Harry after reports that the Duke of Sussex may not bring his family to the UK for the Invictus Games countdown event. The presenter posted on X: 'Awwww, the Ginger Whinger is throwing yet another tantrum because he wants the British taxpayer to pay for his security despite doing zero royal duties and trashing his family for gazillions of dollars. Anyone have a tiny violin?'
Security Request Denied
The Sun reported that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) turned down Harry's requests for taxpayer-funded security just weeks before the family's planned visit. A source said: 'Harry is reassessing things. Ultimately, he is going to do everything he can to find a way to bring them over safely.'
Prince Harry, 41, was due to return to the UK next month for the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, with Meghan Markle, 44, and their children Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, expected to join him. The family was reportedly offered accommodation in a royal residence by King Charles.
Morgan's Criticism
Morgan responded to the security report with a blunt question: 'Good. Why the hell should we pay for his security?' He accused Harry of 'throwing yet another tantrum' despite having completed 'zero royal duties' while publicly criticizing the royal family.
The Duke of Sussex has been embroiled in a legal battle over security arrangements since stepping down as a senior royal in 2020. His request for automatic police protection when in the UK was rejected by RAVEC, which deemed him no longer entitled to publicly funded security.
Queen Camilla's Stance
If Meghan does accompany Harry, the couple may face strict protocols set by Queen Camilla. Speaking on his TalkTV show, Kevin O'Sullivan revealed: 'Any get-togethers with Charles will unfold behind closed doors and there is even talk that before their audience with his majesty, the Sussexes will be ordered to hand in their phones and all recording devices are strictly banned. Queen Camilla doesn't trust the gruesome twosome one bit and wants to ensure there are no leaks to the media.'
Daily Express columnist Carole Malone added on the Daily Expresso podcast: 'Camilla is not going to be around when they [the Sussexes] arrive. I don’t blame her, because Harry slagged her off big time.'
The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, is an international sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women. The 2027 edition will be held in the UK, and the countdown event was expected to be a major milestone.
