Princess Andre Defends Mum Katie's Weight Loss on ITV

In a candid moment on Tuesday night's episode of ITV's Princess Diaries, Princess Andre addressed her mother Katie's significant weight loss and condemned the vicious online commentary targeting her appearance. The 18-year-old influencer, who has grown up in the public eye with parents Katie and Peter Andre, offered viewers an intimate look into her life and burgeoning career.

Defending Katie Against Online Abuse

During a conversation with her close friend Heidi, daughter of Kerry Katona, Princess expressed deep concern for her mother's wellbeing. "I feel bad for mum as she is not the most happy with herself," Princess revealed. "People all slate her for how she looks. I posted a video of her out shopping the other day and the comments made me feel sick. I've never seen anything like it."

Princess emphasized that while the family has discussed Katie's slender physique, public criticism crosses a line. "We've all told her she looks skinny, but why do other people have a right to comment on it? The amount of hate she got was awful," she stated firmly.

Katie's Health Concerns and Medical Journey

Katie Price, the 47-year-old former glamour model, has faced mounting concern over her weight loss throughout the past year. In January, Katie admitted to seeking medical advice after being "horrified" by photographs showing her "gaunt" appearance. On her podcast, she acknowledged, "I know I look gaunt, I look like I'm ill – hence why I'm going to the doctors tomorrow."

Despite her initial goal of losing weight, Katie has expressed confusion over her continued weight loss. "I just wanna put on weight, I really do, but I'm just not," she explained. "Everyone knows I eat – I eat anything that I want, I've never had a problem with what I eat."

Last October, Katie revealed she had been hospitalized due to her weight loss, which has puzzled medical professionals. She underwent tests to determine the underlying cause, sharing on Snapchat, "The reason I'm going to the doctors is because I keep losing weight and I don't know why."

Princess's Views on Surgery and Relationships

Princess also shared her perspective on plastic surgery, referencing her mother's well-documented history of cosmetic procedures. "I'm not against surgery, but not now, I don't want it," she clarified. "You have to let your body develop at this stage."

In a separate segment from Sunday's episode, Princess discussed her approach to dating, influenced by her mother's tumultuous romantic history. Katie has been married four times and engaged nine times, most recently to entrepreneur Lee Andrews after a whirlwind one-week romance.

"I think about my mum, she's had so many people do her wrong, it's an eye opener and so my guard is up," Princess confessed. "I don't want another relationship yet, I want to be confident in myself first. It would have to be something very special for me to be open about it and post about it."

Navigating Friendship and Fame

Princess also touched on the challenges of trusting new acquaintances since gaining more prominence. "I don't trust anyone," she admitted. "Since people have known I've been filming for season two, I have had a lot of people message me saying 'let's hang out' or 'we should be friends'. I don't want friends like that!"

However, her bond with Heidi remains strong, with Princess describing their relationship as sisterly, having both been raised by famous parents. In a recent revelation, Princess and her brother Junior disclosed they learned about their mother's engagement to Lee Andrews via text message, highlighting the complexities of their public family dynamics.

The episode underscores the personal struggles faced by the Andre family amidst ongoing public scrutiny, with Princess advocating for compassion over criticism regarding her mother's health and appearance.
