Holly Ramsay and her fiancé, Olympic champion swimmer Adam Peaty, were joined by her famous family for a pre-wedding dinner in Bath this week, presenting a united front just days before their nuptials. The gathering comes as a very public and bitter row with the groom's family threatens to overshadow the Christmas-season ceremony.
A Show of Family Solidarity in Bath
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, his wife Tana, and their children were out in force in the historic city of Bath on Monday. The family was seen leaving the upmarket Robun Japanese sushi restaurant and cocktail bar after a lengthy meal. Gordon, Tana, and their daughter Tilly, 24, were photographed holding hands as they walked. The bride-to-be, Holly, 25, opted for a chic black outfit, holding the hand of her youngest sibling, two-year-old Jesse James. Her fiancé, Adam Peaty, dressed similarly in black, followed closely behind.
Fellow diners at Robun, where Robbie Williams recently ate, noted the couple appeared deeply happy. One witness described them as "inseparable," adding, "They were all over each other, giggling and fooling about. Whatever problems there may be in the family, they certainly weren't showing it." The restaurant is known for premium dishes like black cod in miso sauce for £27 and Wagyu ribeye at £49, with Gordon's bill reportedly running into the hundreds of pounds.
The Shadow of a Public Family Feud
This display of family unity starkly contrasts with the ongoing and very public dispute with Adam Peaty's side of the family. Notably absent from the Bath preparations were Adam's relatives. The Olympian made headlines last month after uninviting his family from the wedding. The rift reportedly began when Adam's mother, Caroline, was not invited to Holly's luxurious hen party at Soho Farmhouse, which was attended by Holly's mother Tana, Adam's sister Bethany, and Victoria Beckham.
Tensions are said to have been brewing since the couple's engagement party last December, which was filmed for Gordon Ramsay's upcoming Netflix documentary. A source claimed Caroline had grievances at the event, confronting Gordon about absent family members. Guests were required to sign non-disclosure agreements and surrender their phones for filming.
In the fallout, Adam's aunt Louise publicly criticised the couple on Instagram, alleging Caroline was excluded from the wedding due to her appearance not fitting the desired "look." Remarkably, Adam's sister Bethany appears to be the sole member of his family to survive the feud, having attended the hen do and reportedly being asked to be a bridesmaid. A friend suggested Bethany "fits in" with the Ramsays' glamorous world because "she's blonde and very pretty."
Final Preparations for a Bath Abbey Wedding
The Ramsay family spent the day in the Roman city finalising details for the upcoming ceremony. It is believed they met with Reverend Chantal Mason, the Acting Rector of Bath Abbey, where the couple will exchange vows at the historic Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul later this month. The Ramsays know Revd Mason from the time Holly and her brother Jack, both 25, attended the University of Exeter, where she previously served as chaplain.
Earlier on Monday, Gordon was also spotted having a late afternoon tea at The Griffin Inn near Bath's Theatre Royal. After their one-hour-and-twenty-minute dinner at Robun, the family departed in chauffeur-driven Range Rovers, heading in the direction of their London home.
Despite the backdrop of familial discord, Holly and Adam are proceeding with their wedding plans, determined to celebrate their union at the iconic Bath Abbey before embarking on festive drinks with their guests.
