Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are expected to accompany their parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, to the UK next month for the first time since 2022, but it is unlikely they will be seen by the British public. The children, who have grown up in America, have not visited Britain in over four years and are expected to spend time with royal relatives, including King Charles. However, all activities involving the children will be conducted privately, unlike their parents, who are reportedly scheduled for public engagements.
Privacy and Safety Concerns
Harry and Meghan have not publicly commented on the visit, but sources indicate that the children will not attend public engagements to maintain their privacy. The couple has kept Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, out of the public spotlight, even avoiding showing their faces on social media. A source close to the couple told PEOPLE: "Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm."
First Family Visit Since 2022
The family-of-four are rumoured to be staying at a royal residence during their upcoming trip. This will be the first time the whole family has been in Harry's home country together since 2022. Harry has visited the UK alone on numerous occasions, citing security concerns as the reason his family has not accompanied him from their home in Montecito. However, he stated last year that he would like his children to get to know his home country, which may now be happening.
